Day 1: Arrive in Vientiane (D)   Car

You will be warmly welcomed upon arrival in Vientiane airport and be transferred to your hotel. Although it is a capital city, Vientiane has the feel of a small provincial town. The wide boulevards are almost devoid of traffic, and with its many temples, the city retains the feel of another age.
Our tour today including visits to the Wat Sisaket with its thousands of miniature Buddha statues followed by the Wat Simuang and Wat Prakeo, which was the original home of the famous Emerald Buddha, which today lives in Bangkok. Continue to visit the huge golden That Luang monument, where all Lao citizen respect as holy pagoda and the Vientiane 's own Victory Monument , which looks like the Arc de Triumph. Welcome dinner at local restaurant.

Day 2: Vientiane - Luang Prabang (B/L)   Car, Air plane

It is time to explore city with visits to Wat Visoun, the site of impressive Thad Makmo stupa ; the Wat Mai which built in 1796, the five-tiered roof of the wooden Sim (chapel) epitomizes the graceful Luang Prabang architectural style and the Wat Xieng Thong further emphasizes the uniqueness of Luang Prabang, its several roofs sweeping low to the ground. Climb up 350 steps to the top of the Phou Sii hill to visit the Wat Phu Sii and enjoy commanding views for many miles in each direction. Back to hotel for leisure or you can go shopping at night market, where hundreds of Hmong vendors display their handmade handicraft.

An optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (often in the form of sticky rice) from the faithful residents. This tradition is very unique in Laos , being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the ritual.
Visit the National Museum , once a king's palace. Displayed inside is a lovely collection of personal artifacts of the royal family. Take a Mekong Riverboat trip on the mighty Mekong River to visit the famous & sacred Pak Ou Buddha Caves - home to many thousands of Buddha images that were placed here by local people since 16th century - overlooking the confluence of the Mekong & Ou Rivers. On the way back to Luang Prabang visit Por Sa Paper Handicraft & Textile area at Ban Xang Khong.
