Day 1: Yangon - Kyaikhteyoo (Golden Rock).
Our guide will welcome and meet you in Yangon International Airport. And will bring you to Kyaikhteyoo (Golden Rock), it will take 3-4Hours drive. The pagoda is located near Kyaikto in Mon State in the northern part of the Tenasserim coast. The Golden Rock is situated at an elevation of 1,100 metres (3,600 ft) above mean sea level, on top of the Kyaiktiyo hill (also known as Kelasa hills or Eastern Yoma mountain, it is on the Paung-laung ridge of the Eastern Yoma mountains. It is at a distance of 210 kilometres (130 mi) from Yangon. The Kinpun village 16 km (10 mi) is at the base of Mt. Kyaiktiyo. It is the closest to the Kyaikteyoo Pagoda. From Kyaikteyoo, the foot trail or road starts for the Golden rock. On this approach, there are numerous granite boulders on the mountain, perched in precarious condition. Near the top of the mountain, there are two large lions guarding the entrance to Kyaikteyoo Pagoda.It looks as if it is just about to fall off the edge of Mount and roll down in to the sweeping landscape of Myanmar. Yet the enormous granite boulder, known as the Golden Rock, has perched precariously here for as long as the land’s recorded history. The Kyaikteyoo Pagoda, built atop, is, alone, over seven meters in height. The whole edifice is said to be balanced on a single strand of the Buddha’s hair. Day 2: Kyaikhteyoo – Bago - Yangon
After breakfast, will come down from Golden Rock to Base camp and tour will take you to Bago which is formerly known as Pegu. It is a city and the capital of Bago Region in Myanmar. It is located 80 km (about 50 miles) from Yangon. It has a population of 220,000. The Shwemawdaw Pagoda or 'Great Golden God Pagoda' was built around 1000 years ago and located in Bago, Myanmar. It is one of the famous Mon pagodas. The pagoda was built by 2 merchants Taphussa and Bhalita and enshrined some hair and teeth relics of the Buddha. It was originally built to a height of 23 meters and was rebuilt higher several times until it finally reached its present 114 meters in 1954. It was destroyed several times due to earthquakes, including one in 1917 and another in 1930. The upper parts of the pagoda which was collapsed in 1917 earthquake remain at the site. Kanbawzathardi Palace. The original palace, built for King Bayinnaung in 1556, consisted of 76 apartments and halls. It was burned down in 1599.It was reconstructed in 1990 and finished in 1992.After that continue to Yangon.
