Cold Foods Festival in Vietnam.
“Tết Hàn Thực” in Vietnamese – Cold Foods Festival is a traditional festival of the Vietnamese which takes place on the 3rd day of the Third Lunar month of the year. On this day, all family’s members gather at home to make “Bánh trôi” – (it's made of bits of brown sugar wrapped in glutinous rice paste and cooked by scalding in boiling water), and “Bánh chay” - glutinous rice dumplings (filled with green bean paste in syrup). These are two popular traditional kinds of food of the Cold Foods Festival. After all is done, “banh troi” and “banh chay” will be put on a tray and offered to ancestor's altar.
