DAY 1: HANOI ARRIVAL.
Upon your arrival at the airport, our guide will be holding a sign with your name to welcome you at Noi
Bai International airport, then transfer to your hotel to check in. The rest day is free at leisure or explore the city by yourself.
DAY 2: HANOI CITY TOUR.
Our guide and driver will pick you up at 8.00 am to start exploring Vietnam’s charming capital. With its wide tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and ancient oriental pagodas, start a Hanoi’s key sites: the Ho Chi Minh Complex, including Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and stilt house, the Presidential Palace, the nearby One Pillar Pagoda. Next, we visit the Temple of Literature; West Lake including the sedate Tran Quoc Pagoda and the Vietnamese museum of Ethnology. End the day’s explorations with an enjoyable traditional water puppet show. In the evening, you will be transfer to Hanoi train station to catch an overnight train to Lao Cai.
Day 3: HANOI OVERNIGHT TRAIN- LAO CAI - SAPA – CAT CAT VILLAGE.
On Arrival at Lao Cai railways station in the early morning, around 5-6.00am, our driver and guide will welcome you and drive uphill to the mountainous town of Sapa to have breakfast. After the breakfast, we will walk from Sapa downhill along a narrow trail for an hour through fruit garden and vegetable farms to the southern end of Cat Cat village. Then follow the steps down to Muong Hoa River, enjoy a short rest near Cat cat waterfall. Continue to enjoy spectacular views of rice terraced mountains, and see local people dressed in colourful costumes walking along the roadsides. Then we return to Sapa town to see Sapa market if there is enough time. Overnight in Sapa.
Day 4: SAPA - BAC HA - LAO CAI OVERNIGHT TRAIN - HANOI.
After breakfast we drive to Bac Ha, it will take about 2.5 hours from Sapa. Spend time wandering around the market, enjoy the atmosphere and have fun trying out your trading skills with the friendly local people (Bac Ha market is on Sunday). In addition, you have a chance to see the unique local livestocks, animal sections, including puppies, chicken, horses, buffaloes, pigs at this market.
Have lunch in a local restaurant , after lunch you will be driven to Ban Pho village where you can take a walk around the villages of Flower Hmong, Tay and Nung minorities, at Ban Pho you will be able to witness how local people brew corn wine and you may try some wine. We then drive back to Lao Cai station to catch a night train back to Hanoi.
NOTE: In order to see more remote markets, you'd better stay overnight in Bac Ha town.
Day 5: HANOI – HA LONG BAY OVERNIGHT CRUISE.
The train arrives at Hanoi station in the early morning, about 5:00 - 6:00 am, our driver will pick you up and transfer to a hotel ( with no room) or a local noodle shop to have breakfast. After that , continue your journey east to Halong Bay through the picturesque rice-farming villages of the Red River Delta. On arrival, we board a beautiful traditional junk, have an enormous lunch and spend a full day and night cruising the bay’s 2000 magnificent limestone islets. In the evening when the boat is anchored in the middle of the stunning lagoon, we enjoy a wonderful seafood dinner. Overnight on board.
Day 06: HA LONG BAY - HANOI.
In the next morning, get up early and participate in Tai Chi session on the top deck or simply relax and enjoy the sunrise over the bay’s towering islands. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea, before setting out to explore nearby islands by rowboat. Return to the junk for breakfast then take advantage of the sundeck and admire
the amazing rock formations of Halong, have a brunch on board the boat before returning to Halong pier. Upon your arrival back to the pier, our guide and driver will pick up you and transfer back to Hanoi or to the airport, depending on your schedule.
